The fledgling OneAsia Tour, a rival to the established Asian Tour, on Friday announced an 11 tournament schedule for 2010, less than originally planned.
OneAsia launched in January this year, bringing together Tours from China, South Korea and Australia to form a "super series" that it hopes can rival the European and US Tours.
It initially had six events on its calendar with a boast that each would offer at least one million dollars in prizemoney.
But one event fell through and only three of them will meet the cash pledge.
There is no love lost between OneAsia and the Asian Tour with Asian Tour chief Kyi Hla Han saying in September there were no plans to reopen talks to smooth out their differences.
The Asian Tour has accused OneAsia of stealing its tournaments.
OneAsia said it would hold 11 events next year, down from the 12-15 it originally planned, with a minimum prize purse of one million dollars in each.
The tour will grow to at least 15 tournaments in 2011, down from the 17-20 stated before.
"OneAsia is providing a higher level of playing opportunities for golfers in the region by increasing the level of competition and boosting prizemoney for players to build a professional career 'at home', said Zhang Xiaoning, OneAsia chairman.
"The level of interest in this year's schedule has been overwhelming."
PGA Tour of Australasia commissioner Ben Sellenger, the driving force behind OneAsia, said the tour aimed to raise the bar in Asia.
"We are delighted to support our partners to help raise the bar and boost the game across the region," he said.
"There's a vast wealth of both experienced and untapped talent across Asia and by raising the profile and standards of tournament golf we are set to inspire the next generation of golf stars.
"We will provide them with an alternative career to the US and European Tours at home."
The Asian Tour is expected to announce its schedule later this month.
